Interest rate and cost inflation stress have caused property management firms to reduce discretionary staffing spending, as evidenced by the YOY 5.1% decline in revenue in the June quarter.

However, adj. EPS loss of ($.02) narrowed substantially from ($.10) as cost restructuring efforts enabled a 29% reduction in SG&A to $8.9 m for the quarter.

Notably, the company cites the role of AI in improving candidate onboarding as well as candidate-to-job matching.

While we remain on the sidelines at a Neutral for BGSF, Inc. (BGSF - Free Report) , the company will be reporting quarterly results this week for what is typically a seasonally strong quarter.

Please note that the balance sheet is very solid with cash and cash equivalents exceeding $18 m with minimal debt and a share buyback in place equating to about 5% of outstanding shares.

The other microcap, Key Tronic Corporation (KTCC - Free Report) , is a contract manufacturer providing integrated electronic and mechanical engineering, precision plastic molding, sheet metal fabrication, printed circuit board assembly, product design, sourcing, procurement, testing and logistics services to original equipment manufacturers.

Key Tronic Corporation (KTCC - Free Report) has been caught in the tumultuous tariff storm but has taken significant actions to right the ship. While revenue declined 7.7% YOY in the latest quarter, it did increase sequentially by 14%. And adj. EPS loss narrowed YOY to ($.26) vs. ($.35).

The company has exited its manufacturing operations in China but still does procurement there. It expects $4m in savings in FY27 from this exit.

Additionally, it has promulgated a 40% headcount reduction for its Mexico operations over the last 27 months. It is now focused on its Vietnam, Mexico, and Arkansas locations. The bet is that the company may benefit from US reshoring.

Importantly, the company expects to return to profitability in 2027. And backlog improved YOY to $204.1 m from $159.1 m in the latest quarter.

We remain on the sidelines at a Neutral until better top-line stability surfaces.
